About
This online exhibition, “Ryokichi Yatabe: Life of a Japanese Scientist in the Early Meiji Period,” primarily aims to introduce the Ryokichi Yatabe Papers held by the National Museum of Nature and Science in Japan. It also includes some materials from other institutions, however, and the items on display may change without notice.
We here include only a small number of historical materials from our collection. You can find all items (308 in total) of the Ryokichi Yatabe Papers on another website. The images are available in the format of IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) and under the license of CC BY-NC 4.0. Regarding those from other institutions, please follow their guidance. The National Museum of Nature and Science reserves the copyright for text in this digital exhibition and its entire structure.
