Cortinarius (Phlegmacium: Scarui**) purpurascens Fr. var. hybrians Minakata Characterized by the flesh-colored gills, which is subacuminate in front, the silvery-white stem. Intermediate between C. purpurascens and its var. subpurpurascens Fr. Subcaespitose. Smell good, taste mild not remarkable, very juicy and fragile. Stem rather stout, subcylindrical or compressed except the base, up to about 1 1/4 in. long, 1/4 - 1/2 in. thick, expanding above into the pileus; the base obtusely turbinato-bulbous, marginal, with whitish root fibres, firm, silver-white, silky, striate with nearly straight violet fibrils that are parallel and very long, coated with bright ferruginous cobweb-like veil, which ends at the margin on the base, rather persistent, now forming a ring round near the top, more or less curved or ascendant, inside compactly fibrillose, violet, nearly solid, now descended into by the continuous but heterogeneous dingy white, then purplish flesh of the hymenophorum, which is rather thin, but abruptly attenuated from about 2/3rd the distance from the centre towards the margin of the pileus. Pileus unequal in diam., up to 2 in. across, very glutinous, thickly coated with transparent glutinous stratum, but opaque when dry, irregular, convex then with the ascendant margin, which is straight or slightly incurved at the edge, splitting, light tan, sordidly discoloured to purplish brown afterwards, then again light tan when dry, dirty bay towards the disc, which is plane or depressed, glabrous, sometimes slightly repand, obscurely but closely virgate towards the margin under lens. Gills membraneous, ventricose, crowded, in 2 or 3 series, plane or with one side depressed, now crispate, flesh-coloured, purplish, turning dingy cinnamon, soft, fragile, moist, edge jugged, broad, broadest about the middle, whereabout 4 lin. Broad, subacuminate but obtuse in front, almost free, now scarcely sinuate with very traces of decurrent teeth, the interstices vacant. Dies the paper faint purple.

コメント：カワムラフウセンタケCortinarius purprascensの新変種として記載され、水彩画・標本・胞子紋のすべてが揃った典型的な書式の図譜である。分類は亜属subgenus Phlegmaciumや節section Scauriまでを考慮して、大変丁寧に検討している。変種名は当初succossima（非常に水分が多い）としていたが、これをhybridusに訂正しているが、これはC. purpurescens var. purpurescensとvar. subpurprescensの中間的な性質であることに由来している。
