菌名：Cortinarius januarius Minakata

Under pines, Goban-yama, Kii, legit and det. K. Minakata, January 8, 1901.
Solitary, inodourous.
Stem subbulbous, 6 cm high, equal, cylindrical, little more than 1 cm thick, fibroso-striate, skimming like silk, white and pallid, flesh- coloured when stripped of tough, thickich cuticle: raddish squamulose, vestiges of ring superior and irregularly attached to the stem, stuffed, then hollow. Pileus subequal, convex, glabrous, 4 cm across, thin in irregular lines (1/2 cm thick at the disc), very much thinner towards the margin, flesh cottony, soft, pallid, heterogeneous from the fibrose stem; cuticle bright yellowish rufous, darker towards the centre, where it is much cracked radiantly, somewhat repand, shining, fibrillose, more or less sulcato-striate towards the margin, which is incurved. Gills free, unequal, crowded, obtuse before, acutish and with narrow, long decurrent teeth at behind, edge broadly denticulate, broad (8 mm at the broadest points), pale cinnamon, (which is depressed of hinder milky shining part) tough, fleshy, not very thin. Whole plant firm and solid, and viscid at first. Flesh watery.

コメント：1901年御坊山のマツ林に採集された未記載種。熊楠は、属内の分類群がある場合は（）に入れて表現しており、 本菌も、多数の種を含むフウセンタケ属Cortinariusの亜属 Myxacium、節 Collinitiに属するものであることを示している（亜属も節も属と種の中間的な分類ランク）。きのこのことをplant（植物体）と表現しているのは、きのこも植物の一部と考えられた当時の常識による。
